Learning tonal vs. segmental patterns

Artificial language learning experiments on tone–segment complexity asymmetries. Joint work with Dr. Micha Elsner and Dr. Becca Morley.

Long'an Thowa (Zhuang)

Phonological description, sound variation and change on vowel length contrast, and tone contextual variation in a Zhuang variety. Phonological description was done together with Dr. Zihe Li in Peking University and Hei Vangz in UC Berkeley. The project on tone contextual variation is joint work with Dr. Zihe Li.

Tonal spreading in Lataddi Narua

Fieldwork and wug-test experiments on the productivity of tonal spreading in a Naish language. Fieldwork was done with the assistance of Dr. Zihe Li in Peking University and Lankanam in Minzu University of China.
